The Yangi Kon Exploration Team is expanding! We are looking for a highly skilled Senior Specialist Geophysicist to provide integrated geophysical interpretation and subsurface evaluation across our licenses and the wider Ustyurt Basin. You will identify structural and stratigraphic traps and mature opportunities for drilling.
Key requirements and expertise
- Experience: 15+ years.
- Software: Petrel, DSG, HRS (an advantage), and related tools.
- Core interpretation: 2D and 3D seismic interpretation; prospect generation; structural, isochron/isopach and depth mapping; sequence stratigraphic interpretation; well-to-seismic ties, including fluid substitution analysis; and advanced seismic attribute analysis. Plan, design and supervise 2D/3D seismic acquisition and processing parameters, assess data quality, and recommend processing or reprocessing.
- Advanced techniques: Seismic inversion and AVO analysis, with a clear understanding of uncertainty in seismic-based predictions.
- Exploration support: Play fairway analysis, risking and volumetric assessment, well planning, pre-drill evaluation, and post-well review.
- Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Geophysics or Geosciences.
- Nationality preference stated in the advertisement: United States, United Kingdom, Far East Asia (Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore, Vietnam, China), and European countries, including Scandinavia.
- Languages: English proficiency is required; Russian is an advantage.
