Introduction

Yangi Kon was established in August 2022 at the initiative of the Reconstruction and Development Fund and the Ministry of Mining Industry and Geology of the Republic. Our mission is the strategic development and expansion of the country’s hydrocarbon resource base through the application of a new, high-technology approach to geological exploration in the Ustyurt region.

By introducing innovative technologies and the best international practices, we have fundamentally transformed the methods of regional study and geological exploration. A new, fundamentally modern culture of planning and control has been established within the industry, enabling the prompt and efficient identification of seven new promising sites, five of which are already prepared for the drilling stage.

The foundation has been laid for the potential discovery of substantial reserves of central basin gas, marked by the commencement of drilling of the first parametric well, UDG-1: Ustyurt Deep Gas #1. This large-scale scientific project, implemented with the use of advanced SLB technologies, is planned to reach a depth of 7,500 meters. This initiative represents a historic milestone for Central Asia, as it opens access for the first time to previously unexplored deep subsurface horizons and provides an invaluable source of fundamentally new knowledge about the regional geological structure.

Our Portfolio

Our current strategic priorities in the Ustyurt region include three key exploration and production initiatives: Ustyurt Deep Gas Project, Shallow, Drill-Ready Structures and Regional Basin-Scale Exploration (18 Blocks).

Ustyurt Deep Gas Project

Exploration and appraisal of deep-gas plays; this flagship initiative positions Uzbekistan as a key player in deep-gas exploration and production.

Shallow, Drill-ready Structures

Fast-track exploration and early development of identified shallow, commercially attractive, drill-ready prospects to rapidly deliver new gas production.

Regional Basin-scale Exploration (18 Blocks)

Comprehensive exploration across approximately 34,000 sq km divided into 18 exploration blocks, aimed at delineating prospective structures and building a robust exploration portfolio for long-term growth.
