The Yangi Kon Exploration Team is expanding! We are looking for a highly skilled Senior Specialist Geologist to deliver integrated regional- to prospect-scale evaluations across our licenses and the wider Ustyurt Basin. The successful candidate will mature structural and stratigraphic leads into drill-ready prospects, supporting our short- and long-term exploration strategy.
Key requirements and expertise
- Experience: 12+ years of relevant experience.
- Software: Petrel, DSG, PetroMod, GeoX, and GIS.
- Core evaluation: Basin-to-play fairway mapping, sequence stratigraphy framework, structural modelling with prospect delivery, post-well review including success-failure analysis, new ventures and license evaluation, yet-to-find (YTF) and field size distribution (FSD) analysis, and mentoring junior geoscientists.
- Technical skills: Reservoir, seal and source characterization; trap integrity analysis (lateral and cross-fault seal, 1st and 2nd order); structural and stratigraphic seismic interpretation; gross depositional environment mapping and play fairway; CCRS mapping; deterministic and probabilistic resource estimation; G&G operations planning; and basic-to-mid-level commercial evaluation.
- Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Geology or Geosciences.
- Languages: English proficiency is required; Russian is an advantage.
