Chief Specialist / Geologist Modeler

About the Role

The Geological Exploration Department (GED) is the foundation of our company. We employ a dual-control system and deep specialization to ensure the accuracy of well placement and data interpretation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Digital Modeling: Construction and updating of 3D geological models of fields.
  • Creating “Cubes”: Building dynamic reservoir models with distribution of reservoir properties (porosity, permeability).
  • Lithofacies Analysis: Detailed study of rock formation conditions to search for zones with the best reservoir properties.
  • Data Preparation: Primary processing, digitization, and systematization of geological information for modeling.
  • Prospect Assessment: Creating a digital twin of the subsurface to select drilling locations with the maximum probability of finding gas.

Required Experience and Skills

  • Modeling Experience: Proficient use of specialized software for constructing geological 3D models (Petrel or equivalents).
  • Regional Knowledge: Understanding of the geological structure and specifics of regional objects (knowledge of specifics is mandatory to substantiate the prospects of new areas together with the regional exploration department).
  • Specialized Education: Deep knowledge in petrophysics, lithology, and reservoir properties.
  • Collaboration: Ability to work in tandem with engineers (Drilling Department) and field services (Drilling Support Department) to adjust models “on the fly” based on actual data (cuttings, gas readings).
