The Yangi Kon Exploration Team is expanding! We are looking for a highly skilled Senior Specialist Sedimentologist to support regional- to prospect-scale exploration studies across our license areas and the wider Ustyurt Basin. You will build the facies and depositional framework that defines reservoir and seal distribution.
Key requirements and expertise
- Experience: 12+ years of relevant professional sedimentology and exploration experience.
- Software: Petrel, DSG, ArcGIS, and CorelDRAW.
- Core analysis: Describe and interpret conventional and unconventional core integrated with cuttings, FMI, petrography and well logs. Develop facies and Gross Depositional Environment (GDE) models, 3D depositional block diagrams, and lithofacies, depositional-facies, GDE and reservoir-property maps. Evaluate reservoir architecture, diagenetic influences, seal-facies distribution and continuity, and identify potential sweet spots.
- Exploration integration: Post-well analysis; contributions to Play Fairway and Common Risk Segment (CRS) mapping and lead/prospect ranking; and mentoring junior geoscientists.
- Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree.
- Languages: English proficiency is required; Russian is an advantage.
